Diablo III
This weekend Blizzard announced the release of the 2nd great game from their agenda, Diablo III. Set to be released on 31st of December (as on Gamespot) is a big surprise, making Starcraft 2 to be a big unknown.
Teased at in the week leading up to Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational event in Paris, the acclaimed US studio today put its' fans anxiety to rest with the announcement of Diablo 3.
Picking up the pieces 20 years after the events of Diablo 2, the third title finds Mephisto, Diablo and Ball defeated and the Worldstone destroyed, stirring evil once again in Tristram. Playing the role of the hero from one of five character classes, players can expect to explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary, battling hordes of demons and collecting powerful items, spells, and abilities along the way. Today's unveiling saw the first demonstration of two character classes featured in the game, namely the Barbarian and Witch Doctor.
Introducing a custom 3D engine that handles indoor and outdoor areas of Sanctuary, Diablo 3 incorporates physics-enhanced environments that offer increased interaction and destructible options. The series' trademark random level generator has been further enhanced with an all-new Quest system and random scripted events, creating dynamic gameplay and plenty of replay value.
